Students have the opportunity to explore their career interests in Boston, New York, and Washington, D.C., while enhancing their networking skills and independently navigating their way around the city.
The Silicon Valley Externship Program is a week-long intensive networking experience focuses on career exploration. Students have the opportunity to network with alumni in San Francisco/Silicon Valley who work in a diverse range of career fields. Students will also learn about different careers and receive professional mentoring throughout the week.
The Boston Externship Program is a one-week career exploration and networking opportunity over the course of spring break in March. This professional development opportunity will be available only for first-year students, and will also include multiple preparation meetings with the Career Development Center. During spring break, we will visit approximately 12-15 different sites within the Boston area. This program is the only opportunity of its kind. It is designed for highly motivated first-year students looking to explore the various career opportunities available upon graduation from Stonehill.
Hill to Hill is a program for Stonehill students interested in a career in government, politics, non-profits and other organizations in Boston or Washington, D.C. Participants conduct at least five informational interviews and/or job shadows in the Boston area prior to spring break then travel to Washington, D.C. during spring break for five additional informational interviews with Stonehill alumni living in the D.C. area.
The New York City Externship Program is an intense week-long networking experience focusing on career exploration. Each year, a small group of students (sophomores, juniors and seniors) are selected to travel to New York City and spend the week meeting with prestigious, successful alumni in a range of professional settings to gain insight into a variety of career opportunities possible for students after graduation from Stonehill.
Externship experience takes Stonehill seniors to Silicon Valley to learn more about tech careers and network with alumni already thriving in the field.
New York City is the largest city in the United States and a Stonehill program provides students of all majors with the chance to learn and lead in coveted NYC internships.
Personal growth, professional clarity are at the heart of the Boston Externship Program.
Students should choose the application option that best suits their interest and complete their applications by the appropriate deadline. Please know that information and materials submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admission cannot be returned to students.
