Temporary Accommodations
The Office of Accessibility Resources (OAR) recognizes that individuals with temporarily disabling conditions that are a result of injuries, surgery, or short-term medical conditions may need access to services and resources similar to individuals with permanent disabilities. Examples of temporary disabilities may include, but are not limited to, broken limbs, concussions, or short-term impairments following surgery or medical treatments.

Serious Medical Issues
Temporary accommodations may be extended to students with acute, debilitating conditions via the procedures indicated above. If you are experiencing an ongoing and/or serious medical or mental health issue that may require you to be off-campus for an extended period of time (e.g., hospitalization, long-term illness, extended inpatient/outpatient program), please contact the Dean of Students Office at 508-565-1363.
The Dean of Students Office will help connect you with appropriate campus resources, assist you with developing a plan for your return, or advise you about the withdrawal process. Please be aware of your responsibility to contact your faculty if you have missed or expect to miss any classes. Your professors are in the best position to discuss how absences from class will affect your class performance.

Students with transitory and minor illnesses such as seasonal allergies, common viral infections, mono, or the flu are not eligible for temporary accommodations. OAR does not provide absence verification to faculty for temporary impairments. We do coordinate academic accommodations for concussions or conditions that
Parking
Students with temporary mobility impairments who are unable to effectively navigate the Stonehill campus may be eligible for a temporary, 30-day medical parking pass.
Please note that this is a non-renewable pass. In order to be eligible for medical parking beyond 30 days, students will need to have or apply for a temporary disabled parking placard through the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles or through their home state’s Division of Motor Vehicles. For example, if you live in Rhode Island, you would go to the Rhode Island source for a state parking placard.
Accessibility Services supports Stonehill’s unwavering commitment to providing a welcoming, supportive and inclusive environment for students with disabilities.
