Finnegan Distinguished Professor of Political Science and International RelationsAnna Ohanyan's research focuses on the regional dimensions of armed conflicts, particularly those taking place in Eastern Europe. Her scholarship also explores how fractured regions perpetuate ongoing armed conflict, nourish authoritarianism and state weakness.

Hayden Chair for the Study of Race, Ethnicity, & Social Justice, Professor of Anthropology and SociologyStanley Thangaraj leads the Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity, and Social Justice, an interdisciplinary hub that examines how race, ethnicity, and other categories of difference are infused in structures of power. His scholarship focuses on the ways in which race, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, class and citizenship shape the experiences of immigrant and refugee communities in the U.S. South.
