Students who are interested in participating in the H.O.P.E. program but who do not have the time, energy, or financial ability to commit to a full HOPE program experience can now do so by participating in a “Mini” H.O.P.E. trip in October 2022 over Fall Break.

The “Taste of H.O.P.E.” program will involve only a one month commitment to the program starting on September 14th and ending on October 12th. There will be an orientation, 3 group meetings and a post-meeting wrap up. The trip will take place over Fall Break: Friday, Oct 7th-Monday, Oct 10th and will consist of time spent getting to know the beautiful people who call the L’Arche Boston North community home.  L’Arche Boston North is an intentional community for people with and without intellectual/developmental disabilities.  Students will be staying in the L’Arche community homes (shared bedrooms with other Stonehill students) in Haverhill, MA. Check out the L’Arche Boston North website to learn more about the community.

There will be a $50 deposit/person for the program and $50 worth of personal fundraising required. There is no group fundraising component of this trip.

The “Taste of H.O.P.E.” application will be a separate application from the regular H.O.P.E. application.

Chapel of Mary, – Office of Campus Ministry

Inspired by the enduring values of a Holy Cross education, and the belief that learning is enhanced when it takes place in the context of a compelling situation, H.O.P.E. seeks to engage members of the Stonehill community in cross-cultural service experiences. H.O.P.E. further endeavors to challenge the Stonehill community to grow in love of God and neighbor by embodying the Church's commitment to a preferential option for and with the poor.
