LEAD is a 8-month, cohort-based leadership development program that provides leaders at Stonehill with the opportunity to strengthen and expand their leadership capabilities.

After completing LEAD, you can expect to:

  • Lead with purpose, authenticity, and pride as a steward of Stonehill's mission
  • Cultivate adaptability and resilience through enhanced self-awareness and well-being
  • Foster trusting relationships with team members, your manager, and colleagues across the College
  • Engage in difficult and sensitive conversations with candor and compassion
  • Make strategic choices that are aligned with broader priorities and communicate them with clarity and transparency
  • Cultivate innovative thinking and behavior in yourself and others.

You will also expand your network across Stonehill, learn about other areas in the institution, and become part of a growing community of leaders who support one another beyond the duration of the program.

LEAD is intended for staff who have responsibilities for managing individuals or teams. It is also intended for staff who might not have direct reports but have responsibilities for leading committees, sub-committees, or other cross-functional groups.

Participants will complete the following activities during LEAD:

  • Self-paced assignments (weekly)
  • Learning Team meetings with a small group of other LEAD participants (monthly)
  • Facilitated in-person sessions with the entire cohort (monthly)

LEAD kicks off with a full day, in-person session and is followed by seven half-day sessions, approximately once per month.

Outside of these sessions, you can expect to spend 1-2 hours per week completing weekly self-paced assignments and meeting with your Learning Team.

To be considered as a participant in LEAD, you must be considered an employee in good standing and have the support of your manager. You must currently manage at least one direct report or have responsibilities for leading a committee, sub-committee, or other group on campus.

We fully expect that you will plan your time and work with your manager so that you can complete all of the activities in LEAD. However, we understand that conflicts arise and you may have to miss one of the sessions. To successfully complete LEAD, you must participate fully in six of the seven half-day sessions. Participation in the first full-day session is required.

If you do need to miss a session, we expect that you will reach out to HR and your Learning Team or other cohort peers to make up for what you missed.

To apply, you must complete the LEAD application, which will be open on August 1, 2022 and closed on August 23, 2022. Please note that the final deadline for submission is August 23, 2022.
