Advocates for a Brighter Stonehill Leadership Program
Advocates for a Brighter Stonehill comprise of current Stonehill students who serve as mentors to students who have an interest in diversity and activism.
Members of Advocates for a Brighter Stonehill (ABS) act as leaders, role models, and advocates for diversity and inclusion at Stonehill College. They serve as mentors to incoming students, and as allies and advocates for students of all underrepresented communities.
Advocates have been specifically trained in:
- serving as resources that are most helpful to students of color/international students/diversity allies
- addressing issues that most often affect underrepresented communities
- serving as resources to the greater Stonehill community in addressing issues of diversity and social justice
Advocates for a Brighter Stonehill are an integral part of the Intercultural Experience Program and its members are some of the first to welcome first-year students to Stonehill.
Advocates help new students become oriented to Stonehill by encouraging students to get involved in student organizations and to make meaningful connections with people in the college community.
