Move-in Locations and Times

Class of 2027: Saturday, August 26, 2023 | 9:00am-3:00pm

All first-year students will receive an email with a move-in time for Saturday, August 26th. Upon arriving to campus, students can head to the Welcome Center parking lot to check-in and pick up their key. Students and families will then be able to proceed to their residence hall.

Class of 2026, 2025, & 2024 & Transfer Students: Sunday, August 27, 2023 | 9:00am -3:00pm

All returning students will sign up for a move-in time here. Transfer students will be emailed an assigned time.

Residence Life staff will be scheduled between 9:00am and 3:00pm during returning & transfer student move-in so please plan accordingly.

Upon arrival, students should go to the Welcome Center parking lot where they will be able to check in and pick up their key. Residence Life staff will be on hand to check you in and answer any questions you might have about the building or campus.

Move-in Procedures

To help assist with volume we do not allow vehicles to remain directly next to or in front of the residence halls. Stonehill College staff will be available to direct families to a temporary parking location. We request that vehicles be emptied quickly and moved to the Student/Visitor Lot (Lot 17). Residence Life also strongly recommends the following to help make move-in easier:

  • First year students should make sure you have uploaded your picture so a Hillcard can be printed and given to you upon arrival. Please click here to make sure this doesn’t slow you down on move in day.
  • Returning students should remember to bring your Hillcard as that is the only way to gain access to the residence hall.
  • Students and their families bring dollies or hand-trucks to help make moving in easier.

Early Arrivals

Residence Life only approves early arrival requests received by students who are involved in a Stonehill sponsored activity (athletics, student leader training, international students.) prior to the official move in dates. These individuals should disregard communication they receive with the move in times for August 26th & 27th. Instead, they should adhere to the dates communicated by the office that is sponsoring their early arrival. Early Arrival requests outside of fall athletes, student leader training, and international students will not be approved. Please plan accordingly.

What to Bring/What Not to Bring

Before you pack up for move-in, please be sure to review our website for a list of prohibited items that are not allowed in the residence halls. On our site you may also view more detailed information about fire safety guidelines and additional Residence Life policies.

Insurance

Please also note that Stonehill does not carry insurance on the personal property of its students.  As such, students are strongly advised to have their personal property covered by individual or family insurance.  While we do not specifically endorse insurance companies or their products, two of the more popular plans may be found online at http://www.nssi.com and at https://www.gallagherkoster.com/students/.

Fall Orientation

Fall Orientation for first-year students begins the day of move-in on Saturday, August 26th. In the afternoon, students will begin their fall Orientation experience through several workshops, tours, and social opportunities. As the date approaches, more details on the schedule and events will be provided.

Opening Meetings

During the first week of the semester all resident students will be required to attend community meetings and area-wide meetings. Important information about campus life and expectations for being a member of the Stonehill College community will be shared during these sessions. Dates, times and locations will be communicated by Resident Assistants.
