What to Bring / What Not To Bring
These regulations have been established for your convenience and safety. Your cooperation in complying with these policies is greatly appreciated.
Students are encouraged to bring the following items to campus:
- Masks
- Thermometer
- Hand Soap & Hand Sanitizer
- Disinfectant Wipes
- Packed "Go Bag": To ensure that students are best prepared in the event that they need to enter isolation or quarantine while on campus, we ask that each resident prepare a "Go Bag" that can be easily transported yet robust enough to allow a resident to be in isolation or quarantine for 14 days. Suggested items for a student's go bag include:
- Toiletry items: toothbrush, toothpaste & floss, face wash & moisturizer, deodorant, contact lenses, contact solution, shampoo & conditioner, body wash or soap, brush, ponytail holders, lotion, feminine products, etc.
- Undergarments: underwear, socks, bras
- Clothing: Pajamas, T-Shirts, shorts, leggings or sweatpants, hoodies
- Flip Flops, slides, slip-on shoes
- Pillow
- Prescriptions and other daily medications
- Identification, Medical Card, Credit Card
- Phone charging cord and plug
- All schoolwork, books, supplies, planner, calculator, etc.
- Computer and Charger
- Power Strip
- Thermometer
- Pulse Oximeter
- Over the counter medications: Tylenol, Cough Medicine, Vitamins
- Blanket
- Bath towel
- Set of sheets
- Refillable water bottle
- Tissues
- Hand sanitizer
- Disinfecting spray
- Additional face masks
- Bed sheets (X-Long Twin)
- Blankets
- Pillows & Pillow Cases
- Toiletries
- Shower Caddy

- Desk Lamp (halogen lamps are not permitted)

- Iron (must have automatic shutoff)
- Laundry Basket & High Efficiency Detergent
- Refrigerator (approximately 4.5 cu. ft. or smaller)
- Alarm Clock
- Television
- Room Decorations
- Coffee Maker (single serve - Keurig style are permitted).
The following items are prohibited by the College. Use/possession of these items may result in fines, a loss of merit points, or the loss of residency privileges:
- Cooking Appliances (Hot Plates, Broiler/Toaster Ovens, Popcorn Poppers, multi-cup coffee makers)
- Microwave Ovens
- Halogen Lamps
- Air Conditioners
- Candles/Incense
- Spider Extension Cords (also called Octopus Extension Cords)
- Bed Lofts (small risers other than concrete blocks are allowed)
- Waterbeds
- Firearms / Weapons
- Electric Water Coolers
- Any furniture not specifically labeled as compliant with Cal 117 fire safety regulations.
- Large Posters (larger than 24" X 36")
- Large Refrigerators (over 4.5 cubic feet)
- Alcohol and Other Drugs (Alcohol is only allowed in designated upper class areas for students of legal drinking age)
- Hookah, Juul, E-cigarettes, or any other smoking paraphernalia
- Hair Straighteners or Curling Irons without an automatic shutoff device
- Pets (other than fish)
The Office of Residence Life is dedicated to providing students a supportive and inclusive living environment that enhances their Stonehill experience. Students can select from a wide range of living options at Stonehill, ranging from traditional corridor style halls to suites and townhouses, to single-gender residence halls.
