Step 1

Click here to fill out step one of the application.

This will take approximately 30 minutes to complete, but we recommend that you have the following information ready and pre-typed out to expedite your application:

  • You will be asked to complete demographic information for contact purposes. There are also several optional fields for you to select if you choose, and these are for assessment purposes.
  • You will be asked to provide any employment history and/or co-curricular involvement at Stonehill College or previous institution.
  • You will be asked to agree to allow us to review your academic and Community Standards records to ensure you meet qualifications.
  • There will be five essay questions. The questions are as follows:
    • Why are you interested in becoming a Resident Assistant?

    • Please describe any positive contributions you have made to the development of your residential community. If you are a commuter, please comment on ways in which you've contributed to the Stonehill community in the past. Examples could include involvement in a community organization, attending on campus programs, or supporting college-wide initiatives. How would members of the community describe your impact?

    • RAs are required to enforce Stonehill College's Community Standards. If you have ever been involved in the conduct process, please describe what you have learned from it.

    • Describe the greatest strength you would bring to the Resident Assistant position and what aspects of the position may be challenging for you.

    • Stonehill College is home to individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and abilities. How would you, as an RA, play a role in creating an antiracist community that fosters collaboration and productive conversations? You may use examples from your past to support your ideas.

  • Visit Handshake and log in by selecting "Stonehill Users" using your Stonehill College username and password. You will be asked to upload your resume and complete some basic information.
  • NOTE: The Career Development Center staff will review and either approve or decline your resume. • Consider visiting the Career Development Center's website for some great tips on building a strong resume. Additionally, the CDC offers virtual Resume Labs to assist you with this process. A schedule of Resume Labs can be found by clicking on the Events tab in Handshake.

Reminder: Both steps 1 & 2 of the application are due by Sunday, January 29, 2023 by 11:59pm.

Step 3: Individual Interview

This is more of  a standard interview where you will participate in a virtual 30 minute conversation with a member of our professional staff as well as two current RAs. You will be asked a series of questions that cover topics including community building, diversity and inclusion, our Catholic mission, teamwork, and more.

If you have any questions pertaining to the RA position, the application process, or anything related to this page, please feel free to reach out to Alejandro Martinez, Residence Director of O'Hara Hall & Village or Devin Clemons, Residence Director of Pilgrim Heights & Village.
