Unlike criminal justice, criminology is a broad area of studies that covers not only the three main areas of the criminal justice system (police, courts and corrections), but also encompasses at-risk youth, juvenile delinquency, substance use disorders, legal studies, international criminology and victimology.

This year I am teaching English to 8th-12th graders at the Hogar del Niño. I have felt welcomed and loved by students, teachers and friends and I am excited to see what is next to come!
Teach for America Corps
A community group internship my sophomore year gave me a better understanding of the challenges underserved youth endure and opened my eyes to the inherent ability all students possess, regardless of their race or socioeconomic background. Four subsequent internships further confirmed my passion for work advocating for at-risk youth; and I decided to pursue a career with Teach For America.
